Trivia

Harry Tang’s full name is revealed to be Harold Tiberius Tang, an homage to Capt. James Tiberius Kirk of the original Star Trek series and films.

Jeff and Lester are dressed for Halloween as the farming husband and wife, respectively, from Grant Wood’s famous painting American Gothic.

The end scene when Chuck runs back home in slow-motion while Finlay Quaye’s song “Dice” plays, is a copy of the end sequence from The O.C. episode “The Countdown”, Josh Schwartz’ debut series. According to him, the scene was shot that way to make an emphasis on the bromance between Chuck and Morgan, since it is a very important part of the show.

Chuck disarms the bomb at seven seconds left on the countdown just like the bomb in the James Bond movie Goldfinger. The movie also gets mentioned several times during this episode. Additionally, the part where Chuck gets ejected from his car is from a similar scene in Goldfinger, when Bond ejects one of the henchmen.

Quotes

Chuck: Is that a water gun?
Lazlo: No.
Chuck: I’m pretty sure it is. It’s dripping on my face.

Chuck: I’m not a salesman. I’m actually part of the nerd herd.
Angry Customer: (sarcastically) You must be so proud of yourself.
Chuck: (earnestly) I wouldn’t go so far as to say proud.

Chuck: Do you have any idea how violated I feel right now!?!
Casey: You feel violated?!? No, no, no. My ears feel violated, ‘cuz they have to listen to you and that moron Morgan yammering on for four hours about what sandwich you’re gonna take if you’re stranded on a desert island!
Chuck: What are you, nuts? Nobody was talking about sandwiches for four hours, come on!
(Casey hits the play button on his console)
Chuck: (On tape) Think about it: this is a desert island, Morgan. Mayonnaise simply doesn’t fare well in the tropics.
Morgan: Yeah, but define sandwich, ‘cuz technically you could put anything between two slices of bread. For instance, could I bring a Jessica Alba sandwich to said desert island?
Chuck: Well, I suppose-
(Casey stops the recording)
Chuck: Well, I’ll have, you know, I stand by my mayonnaise theory.
